Charity is a big part of the MLE culture and throughout the year we support various charities in different ways.

This quarter the charity we are supporting is The Trussell Trust in Salisbury. They are a local Christian charity working to alleviate poverty, deprivation and despair in the UK and Bulgaria. They have projects in Bulgaria ranging from running residential training centres for state care leavers, to giving Christmas Boxes and introducing sustainable ventures to Roma communities. In Salisbury they have the pioneering foodbank project, which provides boxes of nutritionally balanced food and support to people experiencing emotional or financial crisis.

MLE decided to help not just by donating some food which the foodbank relies on from the community but also to volunteer to help sort donated food ready for distribution.

All the staff at MLE were encouraged to donate some food, and the total contents raised was then matched by the company. Last Wednesday we took our food collection down to St Michael's Community Centre. With 7 MLE volunteers we spent two hours sorting food into categories and then date order, we swiftly worked through the tasks given showing how well we work as a team.

At Christmas MLE will also be supporting The Trussell Trust Christmas box appeal.
