Salisbury Company ML Electronics officially recognised for its Investment in People

Salisbury-based ML Electronics (MLE) is celebrating receiving the Investors in People award. The award recognises MLE’s commitment to providing a unique working environment for its staff as the company continues to expand.

MLE, a developer of specialist electronics systems, possesses a unique business culture built around the concepts of support, inclusion and progression. In the past 18 months the company has seen its staff grow by 40%. Receiving the Investors in People award recognises their resolve to become a leading company with a reputation for excellence in employment.

Investors in People Assessor Terry Hooper recommended MLE for the award after he completed an assessment visit at the company’s offices, where he was shown around the business and met with members of the team. Often companies are unsuccessful at the first stage of the Investors in People scheme, however MLE were one of the successful few to receive the award after just one assessment. Mr Hooper comments,

"MLE is a small but growing business with a positive team identity, operating within a culture of mutual support, staff involvement, trust, honesty and positive leadership"

Staff members at MLE are encouraged to work in cross-disciplined teams to develop different areas of the business. By doing this they are able to gain understanding of other areas of the business and take ownership of changes and improvements happening within their workplace. The result is an integrated business with a team of staff that are fully engaged in working together to take the company forward.

Key to the MLE vision has always been the desire to create an environment that empowers and supports its staff. Managing Director Mike Lloyd says,
