  • EMC Compliance

EMC Compliance

By bringing this important design aspect in house, we can assess the EMC compliance of a project throughout the design process.  We commonly monitor for RFI susceptibility, radiated emissions, static discharge, spike and surge immunity.

The EMC directive became fully effective on Jan 1st 1996 and applies to all products that have electrical or electronic content, which are to be supplied within the EC. Equipment that is first placed on the market or taken into service is covered. Complying (with all relevant standards) products are marked with the CE mark and can be distributed within the single market. Some products have specific directives that have EMC provisions. These take precedence over the EMC directive.

'Test house days' are expensive; as part of our design capability we have a range of equipment that we use to test products for pre-compliance.

Our equipment

Pre-compliance test equipment:

  • MACE mains interference simulator - for applying voltage dips, fast transients and electrostatic discharge.
  • RF susceptibility current injection 10kHz - 500MHz
  • SCEPTRE spectrum analyser with in-built LISN / EMC guidance software - for measuring and analysing radiated and conducted emissions.

EMC Guidance software to help clients ascertain the correct standards relating to their products.
