Mike and Sharon Lloyd, MLE’s owner-directors, have worked hard to develop an
environment where staff feel valued and which is built around the key themes
of openness, celebration, fun and honesty. It is these values and the way
that they are implemented, which lead to MLE winning the Virgin Mobile Award
for Best Business Culture at the recent Wiltshire Business of the Year
awards.
MLE is a great business in the eyes of its staff and clients and our culture
is considered as key to our success. Clients are always commenting on how
friendly and warm the company is and how committed the team is to developing
great products for them. The MLE staff members are all very motivated by an
exciting atmosphere where new things are happening all the time and where
they are kept informed and encouraged to contribute ideas by a positive
leader who seeks to inspire and include everyone.
All team members are encouraged to take part in all activity, be it a social
occasion, or an important business decision that will affect the team.
Everyone has a voice at MLE and no matter what role a team member plays
within the business, they know they will be listened to. MLE’s culture is
such that blame doesn’t exist. MLE have developed an environment where
people are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions instead, the
focus is on accountability rather than laying blame.
The MLE Team is at the heart of what MLE does and their growth is linked
directly to the growth of the business. The MLE culture builds upon this by
creating an environment where team members are encouraged to learn new
skills and improve themselves using internal and external resources
available to them. MLE has created an environment where team members are

in-house experts, to spread learning across the company, this makes for a
better skilled staff and also recognises individuals within the team as
authorities in an area.
Core to MLE’s environment is the people within in it. We ensure we engage in
regular social activities and that inclusion and celebration are key themes.
Visitors and clients are welcomed into the office like a friend and invited
to join in whatever the goings on of the office are. Once a month we all
bring in food and enjoy a buffet lunch together. This ensures we make time
to just sit and chat with one another about our lives and general day to day
matters and to make sure we maintain the team bond. If a visitor pops into
the office they will be pulled into the fold and invited to join in with us.
MLE’s offices are based on an old farm site in the beautiful Wiltshire
countryside, which makes for a nice day out for our visiting clients. We are
careful to ensure we retain the charm of where we are based and also take a
keen environmental stand, such as recycling waste items, using natural
products in the office and providing homemade refreshments for our guests.
The environment we operate within is key to the happiness of the team and in
turn to the health of the business.
