ML Electronics has been involved in DC-DC converter design for numerous applications and power/voltage ratings.  We are based in the UK and provide various power supply design services (mW to 100kW).

We have wide experience of all DC-DC converter technologies (square-wave, series (or linear) regulator, buck regulator, forward and flyback convertor), we design for ultra high efficiency, wide range input voltage and excellent line and load regulation.  Surface mount technology is commonly used, where applicable, many converters incorporate PIC microcontrollers.

MLE has in-house capability to produce an extremely wide range of robust & reliable DC-DC converter products.  This includes both linear and digital topologies providing high efficiencies of up to 95% with low thermal and electrical stress factors.

We can produce stand alone, rack or rail mount power supply products.

EMC is an important aspect in dc-dc converter design and we have considerable expertise in this area.  Our development philosophy fully incorporates EMC considerations from initial concept and we have in house pre-compliance test equipment to aid the development process.

Case Study - 4 output DC/DC converter
(extended temperature range and low profile )

Using latest ferrite materials (Philips 3F3 ) it is possible to run PWM convertors at increasingly higher operating frequencies and power densities.

Included is a wide range 24 volt (nominal) input with 4 isolated outputs. This unit is unusual in that one of the outputs is referenced to the primary side. Current mode control, ultra low impedance capacitors, schottky diode and FET technology combine to provide a robust solution to this particular low profile, industrial temperature range power requirement.
